Data Architecture Lead

About the role

The Data Architecture Lead will drive the design and delivery of an enterprise analytics platform built on Microsoft Fabric. Working from Monaco, you will own the technical vision, ensure secure and scalable data solutions, and guide migration from Azure Synapse to a production‑grade Microsoft data environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and implement solution architecture, platform design, and governance for Microsoft Fabric components.
• Lead migration of data workloads from Azure Synapse to Microsoft Fabric, handling performance, capacity and security considerations.
• Collaborate with enterprise architecture, engineering teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑value analytics capabilities.
• Set up environments, establish deployment pipelines, and create governance models for steady‑state operations.
• Manage trade‑offs between performance, cost, and compliance while promoting stakeholder adoption.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in solution or data platform architecture, with a strong record of cloud data platform delivery.
• Proven leadership of Microsoft Fabric (or closely related) implementations in enterprise settings.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex architectural decisions into clear business language.

Required skills

• Microsoft Fabric ecosystem – OneLake, Lakehouse, Data Warehouse, Data Factory/Pipelines, Power BI, Real‑Time Intelligence, Microsoft Purview.
• Governance and secure‑by‑design data solutions (lineage, metadata, sensitivity labels).
• Architecture patterns – medallion, semantic models, Direct Lake.
• Git integration, CI/CD pipelines, deployment structures across capacities and domains.
• Strong SQL knowledge; working knowledge of PySpark, KQL and DAX.
• Experience with Azure Synapse migration, performance optimisation, cost management.
