Financial Controller – International Athletics Organization

About the role

World Athletics is seeking a Financial Controller to join its Finance team in Monaco. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a central role in steering the organisation’s financial performance, ensuring accurate budget monitoring, insightful analysis, and smooth monthly closings.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate monthly financial closings in partnership with the accounting team.
• Analyse monthly results and provide clear financial commentary.
• Maintain consistency between accounting data and management control data.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly re‑forecasts.
• Monitor budgets by department and project, flagging variances.
• Act as a financial business partner to operational managers.
• Support the implementation and training of a new Finance ERP system.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Proven experience in financial controlling or similar roles.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
• Fluency in English.

• ERP systems implementation and usage.
