Logistics Category Buyer

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking a Logistics Category Buyer to support the sourcing, tendering, negotiation and performance management of logistics service providers for both Opex and Capex activities. The role ensures compliant, competitive outcomes for projects and day‑to‑day operations across the offshore energy sector.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in defining sourcing and contracting strategies for logistics services.
• Compile market analyses, assess risks and communicate insights to Supply Chain Management.
• Define service requirements with Logistics Managers and project/operations teams.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, manage the RFQ tracker and coordinate qualification processes.
• Expedite RFQs, handle technical and commercial clarifications, and maintain communication during bidding.
• Negotiate commercial terms, SLAs and frame agreements with logistics providers.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and quarterly reviews, driving corrective actions.
• Analyze spend, consolidate proposals and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support commercial proposals during the hand‑over phase.

Required profile

• Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or services contracting, preferably in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, transport modes, Incoterms, customs and import/export processes.

• Freight forwarding and multimodal transport expertise.
• Incoterms and customs documentation handling.
• RFQ preparation and management.
• Supplier performance monitoring and KPI analysis.
• Negotiation of commercial terms and service level agreements.
