Accountant (Maternity Leave Cover) – Monaco

About the role

We are seeking a meticulous Accountant to cover a six‑month maternity leave in Monaco. Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you will ensure accurate day‑to‑day accounting for Monegasque entities while adhering to IFRS standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting tasks including invoicing, bank reconciliation, and month‑end close for selected entities.
• Prepare monthly VAT reports and support external audit processes.
• Record and reconcile payroll entries, verify payroll data, and track employee benefit provisions.
• Handle intercompany transactions, group bank reconciliations, and selected operational postings.
• Assist with annual declarations and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in maritime, shipping, airlines, or large construction projects.
• Relevant degree in accounting, finance or economics; professional certification (ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
• Fluent in English and French; Italian is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Monegasque accounting principles.
• Understanding of French, Italian and EU VAT reverse‑charge rules.
• Experience with ERP systems (MSBC preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis.
