Compliance Officer – Risk & AML (6‑month Fixed Term)

About the role

This six‑month fixed‑term position supports Stonehage Fleming’s Family Office and legal businesses in Monaco. Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance, the role works closely with internal teams and external regulators to ensure robust risk, compliance and anti‑money‑laundering (AML) practices.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee regulatory requirements for licensed and legal entities in Monaco, including licensing, fee compliance, breach reporting and financial returns.
• Prepare board and committee reports, conduct business risk assessments and RCSA reviews from a second‑line perspective.
• Develop, implement and test local AML, CFT, sanctions and policy procedures.
• Investigate, record and file internal suspicious activity reports (SARs) and act as Deputy Money‑Laundering Reporting Officer when required.
• Liaise with compliance, risk and legal teams across the Group to align processes and ensure consistent application of AML/CFT standards.
• Represent the business on industry forums, trade bodies and government consultations.

Required profile

• Experience in compliance, risk management or AML within a financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of Monaco regulatory framework, AML/CFT, sanctions and financial crime prevention.
• Ability to produce high‑quality regulatory filings and board reports.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Knowledge of AML/CFT regulations and SAR reporting procedures.
• Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies (RCSA) and second‑line oversight.
• Understanding of sanctions management and regulatory monitoring.
