Google Cloud Platform Architect (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a senior Google Cloud Platform Architect to lead AI‑driven mainframe modernization projects. You will translate legacy COBOL systems into modern Java, Go, or .NET applications on GCP, while advising clients on the business impact of these transformations.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and drive application modernization initiatives, re‑designing legacy and mainframe‑class systems for GCP.
• Design and implement data architecture solutions on GCP, including BigQuery and analytics pipelines.
• Engage with client stakeholders to explain the criticality of legacy systems and the benefits of modernization.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams within a fully GCP‑based environment.

Required profile

• 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, specifically with Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven track record in modernizing legacy or mainframe systems using Java, Go, or .NET.
• Strong background in data architecture on GCP, especially BigQuery and pipeline design.
• Experience in consulting or professional services with client‑facing project delivery.
• Familiarity with AI engineering practices such as harness engineering or spec‑driven design.
