Operations Director – Cruise Operations

About the role

We are seeking an Operations Director to lead the cruise‑ship fleet across either Monaco or the United Kingdom. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will shape operational performance, ensure compliance with technical and HSEQ standards, and drive continuous improvement for a global brand in a period of expansion.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver vessel performance that exceeds client expectations and outperforms competing ship managers.
• Establish and maintain the Management System (MS) across offices and the fleet, ensuring resources for safe and efficient operations.
• Lead the annual review of the Safety & Quality Management System and implement improvements.
• Develop client relationships, enhance service levels, and improve NPS scores.
• Oversee implementation of management processes, procedures and standards throughout the fleet.
• Manage the annual budgeting process to meet revenue targets and control fixed costs.
• Partner with Crew Management to recruit, retain and develop qualified staff ashore and afloat.
• Collaborate with Marine Services to maximise value‑added service offerings.
• Provide guidance on industry developments, statutory regulations and risk assessments.
• Ensure transparent handling of incidents and accidents, considering human factors.

Required profile

• Master Mariner qualification, preferably with seagoing experience as a Captain on cruise ships.
• Proven senior operations experience within the cruise sector.
• Strong technical understanding of safe and efficient fleet operations and HSEQ requirements.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive continuous improvement.
