Operations Quality Engineer

About the role

As an Operations Quality Engineer you will ensure that SBM Offshore’s operations are performed in line with the Company Quality Policy, Management System and relevant industry standards. You will champion a culture of continuous improvement, driving effectiveness, efficiency and sustainability across offshore and onshore activities.

Key responsibilities

• Acquire and maintain deep knowledge of the Company’s Management System and certification requirements.
• Support Operations Management teams in understanding and complying with quality standards.
• Plan and execute internal assurance activities, identify gaps and drive corrective actions.
• Investigate findings, perform root‑cause analyses and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for potential quality issues.
• Coordinate and facilitate Management Reviews, consolidating inputs from offshore and onshore senior management.
• Plan and lead external assurance activities, representing the Company during certification audits.
• Maintain continuous certification against ISO 9001, ISM Code, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Act as the Quality and Excellence ambassador, ensuring accurate reporting and communication with clients, partners and certification bodies.
• Lead a team of Quality Professionals to support all quality‑related activities.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of quality management systems and industry certifications.
• Experience in internal and external audit processes.
• Proven ability to conduct root‑cause analysis and risk assessments.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with senior management, clients and certification bodies.
• Leadership experience managing a team of quality professionals.
