Senior Data Platform Engineer (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain large‑scale distributed data infrastructure. The role is fully remote and focuses on Java‑based components that power Spark workloads in Kubernetes‑native cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java data‑platform components supporting massive Spark workloads.
• Design, implement, and optimise data processing pipelines running on Kubernetes.
• Ensure platform reliability, observability, and performance across distributed systems.
• Identify and resolve performance and scalability bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with data‑engineering and platform teams to deliver high‑quality features.
• Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and define engineering standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 3+ years of professional Java development in data‑platform or distributed‑systems contexts.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems design and operation.
• Experience with Kubernetes or containerised cloud deployments.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
