Senior Distributed Systems Engineer - Remote Work

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to design and build large‑scale data processing components. You will work remotely with a global team, contributing to open‑source data platform technology used by leading enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed system components in Java or Scala for large‑scale data processing infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain stream and batch processing systems that move data reliably and efficiently at scale.
• Apply distributed‑systems principles to address fault tolerance, consistency, and throughput challenges.
• Diagnose and resolve JVM performance bottlenecks in production environments.
• Collaborate with data and platform engineering teams to deliver solutions that meet real‑world requirements.
• Participate in code reviews, define engineering standards, and engage in technical discussions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 3+ years building distributed systems with Java or Scala as the primary language.
• Strong foundation in distributed data‑processing design and operation.
• Experience with stream or batch processing frameworks and large‑scale pipeline infrastructure.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
