Senior Quantitative Researcher – Systematic Equities

About the role

Maven’s Systematic Equities team is looking for a Senior Quantitative Researcher to drive the development of quantitative equity strategies across global developed markets. You will work in a scientific, process‑driven environment that encourages rapid idea generation, testing, and deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct quantitative research to create alpha signals using traditional financial data, alternative datasets, and advanced statistical or machine learning techniques.
• Design, test, and refine idiosyncratic, factor‑neutral, and long/short systematic strategies.
• Perform rigorous backtesting, performance attribution, robustness analysis, and out‑of‑sample testing.
• Collaborate with portfolio managers, data engineers, and technology teams to move research ideas into production‑ready strategies.
• Contribute to internal research tools, analytics platforms, and model evaluation frameworks.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative discipline such as mathematics, statistics, computer science, physics, economics, or financial engineering.
• 8+ years of experience in quantitative research, systematic equities, asset management, hedge funds, or proprietary trading.
• Strong understanding of equity markets, factor investing, portfolio construction, and risk management.
• Proven ability to work independently across the full research lifecycle, from idea generation to live deployment.
