Temporary Cost Engineer

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking a Temporary Cost Engineer to lead cost estimation, budgeting and financial planning for its deepwater projects. The role supports project teams by delivering accurate, cost‑effective estimates aligned with schedules and execution plans.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
• Analyze cost variances and implement corrective actions to keep projects within approved budgets.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, finance and other stakeholders to provide financial insights for decision‑making.
• Manage invoice processing, cash flow and budgeting activities.
• Monitor risk and internal controls related to project costs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of experience in cost engineering, project cost control or a similar role.
• Experience in construction, engineering or oil & gas industries is preferred.
• Professional certifications such as AACE, PMP or CCE are a plus.
