Ammonia Market Analysis Intern

About the role

Join SBM Offshore’s Ammonia program to support the transition to low‑carbon energy. As an Ammonia Market Analysis Intern you will evaluate the supply and demand dynamics of blue and green ammonia, helping shape the company’s positioning strategy for offshore and near‑shore production concepts.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with Technology and Business Development teams to gather briefings on concept development and market assessment status.
• Analyse the ammonia value chain, including technology providers, EPC contractors, producers, off‑takers and emerging consumers.
• Utilise the Rystad environment to extract project development records and aggregated data for market analysis.
• Produce regional supply forecasts based on ongoing developments and regulatory scenarios.
• Develop demand forecast scenarios, considering national ambitions and renewable power capacity growth.
• Report on blue/green ammonia projects at various development stages, highlighting scale, commercial attractiveness and price dynamics.
• Review internal assessments of gas fields suitable for blue ammonia production and evaluate IOC positioning opportunities.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Business, Economics, Engineering, Energy or a similar field.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
• Interest in energy transition, decarbonisation pathways and offshore technologies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
