Data Protection Officer - Private Banking, Monaco

About the role

Barclays is hiring a Data Protection Officer for its Private Banking team in Monaco, a new position within the Data & Analytics area of expertise. It is a key governance and compliance role overseeing the bank's data protection strategy, regulatory adherence and the Data Protection Act, working closely with the local regulator APDP.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures and monitor their adherence across the organisation
• Identify and assess data privacy risks and implement mitigation measures
• Build an incident response plan for data breaches and coordinate investigations with relevant teams
• Deliver data privacy training and raise awareness among employees
• Define and enforce data privacy policies and maintain a governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements
• Develop Barclays' data privacy strategy aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
• Partner with stakeholders to improve the understanding, use and protection of personal data

Required profile

• Permanent contract, Vice President level expectations
• Previous experience as a Data Protection Officer in the local market
• Fluent French and English
• Good knowledge of local regulations and ability to manage relationships with the regulator

Desirable skills

• Previous experience as a Data Protection Officer in an international bank
• Experience working with APDP
• Cyber or compliance background
