Intern Structural Engineer – FEA Optimization

About the role

Join SBM Offshore in Monaco for a 6‑month internship focused on optimizing and automating Finite Element Analysis (FEA) post‑processing within the Structural and Mechanical Engineering teams. You will evaluate current workflows, identify manual bottlenecks, and propose digital solutions to improve efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze the use of FEA to assess integrity and performance of offshore and industrial equipment.
• Review activities related to model input preparation, result extraction, large‑dataset post‑processing, plot generation, and report compilation.
• Identify manual and repetitive tasks and suggest automation opportunities.
• Contribute to the redesign and digitalisation of the FEA workflow.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Engineering or a related discipline.
• Interest in finite element analysis, structural or mechanical engineering, and process digitalisation.
• Basic knowledge of programming and engineering software tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and English communication skills.
