Lombard/Mortgage Credit Risk Management Officer

About the role

Julius Baer is looking for a full-time Lombard/mortgage Credit Risk Management Officer to work closely with the Credit and Legal Departments. The role covers credit portfolio controls and reporting, including distressed Lombard and mortgage credits submitted to the Competency Holder for approval, together with cooperation with the bank's Legal Advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse detailed requests for credit transactions and submit them to the decision-making Competency Holder
• Carry out periodic controls of individual credit files and of the credit book
• Prepare non-standard documentation required in cases of contract violation or court proceedings
• Monitor distressed transactions and credit positions, follow up with all stakeholders and supervise handling of collateral shortfalls and excess positions
• Ensure credit activities comply with local and group requirements, including irregular accounts review and impaired assets reporting
• Ensure risk standards are applied at all times and contribute to credit-related projects and process improvements

Required profile

• University degree with a financial focus or similar higher education or qualification
• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a bank
• Knowledge of Lombard products and the real estate market in France and Monaco
• General knowledge of mortgage and Lombard credit, the legal and regulatory environment for impaired credit positions and recovery strategies
• Meticulous, able to handle transactions from start to finish, with sound judgement and a risk-driven approach
• Good oral and written communication skills and teamwork with internal stakeholders
