Senior Buyer

About the role

As Senior Buyer, you are responsible for procuring materials, equipment, and services required for project or operations execution. This role involves negotiating contracts and commercial terms, and ensuring timely delivery to support project and operations timelines and budgets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and lead procurement plans based on project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
• Source and evaluate suppliers in line with strategic sourcing guidelines, ensuring quality, cost and delivery criteria are met.
• Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers for critical packages, securing favorable agreements while mitigating risks.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and company policies.
• Control costs by aligning procurement activities with budget constraints and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies and safety standards.
• Provide regular procurement status updates to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting risks and mitigation strategies.
• Mentor and monitor a team of buyers, supporting their activities as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration or a related field.
• 10+ years of procurement experience within the oil and gas industry.

Required skills

• Proficiency in procurement software.
• Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite.
