Senior Data Scientist

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to design and deliver data‑driven and AI‑powered solutions within its Data and Information Management Team. You will work with cross‑functional experts to turn complex operational challenges into scalable analytics, machine‑learning and generative‑AI applications.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, industrialise and maintain end‑to‑end data‑science and AI solutions using Azure‑based technologies.
• Build and evaluate advanced models including statistical methods, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision and large‑scale document processing pipelines.
• Contribute to Generative AI projects such as LLM‑based solutions, document intelligence, copilots and automation agents while ensuring compliance with AI governance.
• Apply MLOps best practices to guarantee production readiness, performance and robustness.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define use cases, success criteria and translate them into deployable analytics solutions.
• Produce clear reports and technical documentation for both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Required profile

• Master’s or Engineering degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related quantitative field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role.
• Proven ability to develop Python‑based data‑science and machine‑learning solutions.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

• Python programming.
• Microsoft Azure services (Azure ML, Azure Data Factory, MS Foundry).
• Generative AI techniques (LLMs, prompt engineering, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation).
• Computer vision, OCR and document classification/extraction.
• Time‑series analysis and anomaly detection.
• Git, CI/CD pipelines and MLOps workflows.
• Azure DevOps and cloud‑native services.
