Senior Process Safety Engineer

About the role

The Senior Process Safety Engineer will lead the delivery of process‑safety deliverables and reporting for SBM Offshore units or projects, guiding engineers and operators on major hazard management throughout the asset lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure SBM Offshore’s Hazards and Effects Management Process is followed during execution and operations.
• Provide guidance on best‑practice risk‑management methods such as Bowtie, PHA, HAZOP and HAZID, and support inherently safer design principles.
• Facilitate risk assessments, track actions, and support safety and environmentally critical element audits.
• Manage a team of process‑safety resources to deliver MAH risk management for offshore assets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, process engineering or a related field.
• Over 10 years of experience in process safety or technical risk disciplines, with at least 5 years in offshore project or operations execution.
• Proven experience in workshop facilitation and risk‑assessment techniques.
