Language Specialist – Remote, $50/hr

About the role

We are seeking a detail‑oriented Language Specialist to evaluate interactions between humans and large language models (LLMs). This remote, contract position focuses on ensuring that model outputs are accurate, clear, and linguistically precise.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyze conversation transcripts between users and LLMs for correctness and clarity.
• Assess model responses against established instruction‑following guidelines.
• Provide written and verbal feedback highlighting grammatical, usage, and contextual errors.
• Document findings and actionable recommendations in structured reports.
• Collaborate with project coordinators to clarify evaluation rubrics and resolve ambiguities.

Required profile

• Native proficiency in U.S. English.
• Advanced academic background or extensive professional experience in linguistics, applied linguistics, or a related field.
• Proven ability to produce nuanced linguistic assessments and high‑quality written communication.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to convey insights clearly in English.
• Experience with rubric‑ or guideline‑based evaluation is preferred.
