Operations Quality Engineer

About the role

As an Operations Quality Engineer you will ensure that SBM Offshore’s operational activities comply with the Company Quality Policy, Management System and relevant industry standards. You will drive a culture of continuous improvement, supporting both offshore and onshore teams to achieve high‑quality, safe and sustainable performance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain deep knowledge of the Company’s Management System and support Operations Management in meeting certification requirements.
• Plan and execute internal assurance activities, identify gaps, and conduct root‑cause analyses.
• Report, investigate and close quality events and corrective actions in a timely manner.
• Perform risk assessments, propose mitigations and coordinate Management Reviews across senior leadership.
• Lead external assurance activities, including certification audits, and act as the company representative.
• Ensure continuous certification against ISO 9001, ISM Code, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Maintain effective interfaces with certification bodies, clients, partners and stakeholders.
• Lead a team of Quality Professionals and act as the ambassador for Quality and Excellence functions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of quality management systems and industry standards.
• Experience in conducting internal and external audits.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of quality professionals.
• Excellent communication skills for interfacing with senior management, certification bodies and external stakeholders.
