Senior Data Platform Engineer (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain large‑scale distributed data infrastructure. The role is fully remote and focuses on Java‑based components that power Spark workloads in Kubernetes‑native cloud environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java data‑platform components supporting distributed Spark workloads.
• Design, optimize, and deploy data‑processing pipelines on Kubernetes‑based cloud platforms.
• Ensure platform reliability, observability, and performance across distributed systems.
• Identify and resolve scalability and performance bottlenecks.
• Collaborate with data‑engineering and platform teams to deliver high‑quality features.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and define engineering standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional IT experience.
• 3+ years of Java development in data‑platform or distributed‑system contexts.
• Hands‑on experience with Apache Spark or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems design and operation.
• Experience with Kubernetes or containerized cloud deployments.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
