Senior Software Engineer – Java & Observability (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build observability and telemetry platforms for large‑scale distributed systems. This remote position focuses on creating the tooling that makes complex environments visible to engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Java‑based observability components and telemetry platform services.
• Build and maintain metrics pipelines, tracing frameworks, and instrumentation tooling.
• Integrate OpenTelemetry standards into platform infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to gather observability requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Deploy and operate observability services in Kubernetes environments.
• Participate in code reviews and help define engineering standards for the platform team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in IT roles.
• At least 3 years of professional experience using Java as the primary language.
• Hands‑on experience building or working with observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, metrics systems, or tracing frameworks.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and the challenges of scaling observability.
• Experience working with Kubernetes.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
