Social Media Editor

About the role

World Athletics is seeking a Social Media Editor to create and manage engaging multimedia content across its global social platforms. You will help grow the sport’s audience by delivering news, interviews and innovative campaigns that showcase athletics worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Produce text and visual content for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and other channels.
• Deliver exclusive news pieces and interviews as part of editorial event coverage.
• Plan, launch and manage interactive formats such as competitions, campaigns and quizzes.
• Monitor athletics‑related news worldwide and respond to community interactions.
• Expand the audience beyond core fans by identifying new interest groups.
• Research trends, analyse performance metrics and report on social media activity.
• Provide remote coverage of events, including weekend work as required.

Required profile

• Strong interest in athletics and sports communication.
• Excellent written communication in English.
• Flexibility to work weekends and provide remote event coverage.
• Ability to work in a multicultural, inclusive environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
• Experience using monitoring and analytics tools for social media performance.
