Data Protection Officer - Private Banking

About the role

Barclays is hiring a new Data Protection Officer for its Private Banking team in Monaco. This is a key governance and compliance role responsible for overseeing the bank's data protection strategy, ensuring adherence to regulations and the Data Protection Act, and fostering a culture of data privacy. The officer works closely with the local regulator in Monaco, the APDP.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures and monitor their adherence across the organisation
• Identify and assess data privacy risks and implement mitigation measures
• Develop and run an incident response plan for data breaches and coordinate investigations
• Deliver data privacy training and raise awareness among employees
• Build and maintain a data privacy governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards
• Define and enforce policies and procedures, and partner with stakeholders to improve the protection of personal data
• Manage regulatory interactions with the APDP and advise senior management on data privacy matters

Required profile

• Good knowledge of local regulations
• Ability to manage relationships with the regulator
• Previous experience as a Data Protection Officer in the local market
• Fluent French and English
• Desirable: experience as a DPO in an international bank, experience with the APDP, and cyber or compliance background
