Payroll Specialist – Remote

About the role

Remote is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join its global Payroll Operations team. You will work remotely, supporting both Global Payroll (GP) and Employer of Record (EOR) payrolls for Latin American countries while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and excellent client service.

Key responsibilities

• Process GP and EOR payrolls, delivering timely, accurate, and compliant calculations, filings, and reports.
• Update and maintain payroll records and employee data in Remote’s platform and related payroll software.
• Manage the Zendesk ticket queue, providing prompt and professional responses.
• Serve as the primary contact for customers and internal/external stakeholders on payroll questions and processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with payroll vendors to ensure quality and timely service delivery.
• Continuously improve payroll processes and stay current with internal payroll projects and updates.
• Ensure full data integrity across all payroll systems and processes.

Required profile

• Solid knowledge of payroll best practices and local compliance requirements.
• Strong proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets.
• Analytical mindset with problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast‑paced, evolving environment and a passion for identifying improvement opportunities.
• Proactive attitude, always looking to streamline and optimise workflows.
• 5+ years of payroll experience for Argentina, Mexico, and/or Chile.
• Experience with in‑house payroll processing, Social Security filings, and vendor management is a strong plus.
• Customer‑facing experience, guiding clients through local payroll processes and questions.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
