Principal Software Engineer – Node.js (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Principal Software Engineer with deep Node.js expertise to shape the technical foundation of a large‑scale AI/ML platform. You will work remotely, collaborating with global talent to define architecture and drive high‑impact full‑stack initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Define the technical architecture of Node.js‑based platform services that power enterprise AI and ML workflows.
• Establish organization‑wide engineering standards for backend development, TypeScript usage, and platform design.
• Lead complex, high‑impact full‑stack projects across multiple engineering teams.
• Act as the technical authority for Node.js and platform architecture decisions.
• Partner with senior leadership and ML teams to align platform strategy with long‑term product goals.
• Mentor staff and senior engineers, raising the overall technical capability of the organization.

Required profile

• 10+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 5+ years of professional experience with Node.js as a primary language.
• Expert‑level proficiency in TypeScript and related tooling (webpack, Babel, NestJS).
• Extensive experience designing Kubernetes‑native platforms at enterprise scale.
• Background in AI/ML platform products or workflows.
• Proven leadership in cross‑team architecture decisions at a Principal or equivalent level.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
