Quality Control Lead – Mooring & Marine Equipment

About the role

SBM Offshore is looking for a Quality Control Lead (QCL‑MM) to join its Supply Chain Excellence team. The role focuses on safeguarding the integrity and quality of critical mooring and marine equipment across the supply chain, supporting the company’s True Blue Transition strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure robust quality control for key supplier packages and develop tools, processes, and templates for inspection management.
• Monitor third‑party inspectors, oversee critical inspection points during production, and lead investigations into quality issues.
• Apply industry specifications, codes, and standards to guarantee compliance for hull, mooring, and marine equipment.
• Implement risk‑based inspection methodologies, manage cost of quality, and conduct supplier qualification audits.
• Develop and standardise Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), review and validate technical inspection documentation.
• Lead improvement workshops with strategic suppliers in line with the global sourcing strategy.

Required profile

• Extensive knowledge of marine and offshore industry specifications, codes, and standards.
• Proven experience in quality control, risk‑based inspections, and supplier audits.
• Strong analytical skills for root‑cause analysis and corrective‑action follow‑up.
• Ability to collaborate with supply‑chain, project, technical, and engineering stakeholders.
