Senior C++ Software Engineer – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep C++ expertise and a passion for the internals of distributed query engines. You will work remotely to enhance the performance and reliability of query processing components that serve large‑scale analytics environments.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise core query engine modules in C++ with a focus on execution speed and stability.
• Profile and debug distributed systems using low‑level tools such as flame graphs and perf.
• Design and improve infrastructure for distributed query processing.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks across the query execution pipeline.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to deliver scalable data‑processing solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and help define engineering standards and best practices.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional IT experience.
• At least 4 years of hands‑on C++ development as the primary language.
• Experience with query engine or database internals.
• Background in designing and building distributed systems.
• Proficiency with performance profiling tools (e.g., flame graphs, perf).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
