Senior Distributed Systems Engineer - Remote Work

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Distributed Systems Engineer to design and build large‑scale data processing components. You will work remotely with a global team, contributing to open‑source platforms that power critical data pipelines for leading enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement distributed system components in Java or Scala for high‑volume stream and batch processing.
• Ensure reliability, fault tolerance, consistency, and throughput of data pipelines at scale.
• Diagnose and resolve JVM performance bottlenecks in production environments.
• Collaborate with data and platform engineering teams to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, define engineering standards, and engage in technical discussions.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 3+ years building distributed systems using Java or Scala.
• Strong background in distributed data‑processing design and operation.
• Experience with stream or batch processing frameworks and large‑scale pipeline infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of JVM performance fundamentals.
• Open‑source contribution experience is a plus.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
