Senior Investment Advisor – Portfolio Manager

About the role

Moncrief is seeking a Senior Investment Advisor – Portfolio Manager to join its Asset Management & Advisory department. This dual‑track position combines investment advisory with discretionary portfolio management, serving high‑net‑worth clients who live in or are closely linked to Monaco.

Key responsibilities

• Advise clients on investment opportunities that match their objectives and risk tolerance.
• Collaborate with relationship managers to address all client investment needs.
• Maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and portfolio reviews.
• Construct and adjust multi‑asset portfolios based on client requirements and market conditions.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Participate actively in the Investment Committee, shaping the bank’s view on asset classes.
• Help redesign quantitative investment tools and support strategic/tactical asset allocation (coding skills advantageous).
• Own operational aspects of the discretionary asset‑management platform, including fact‑sheet maintenance and first‑line defence controls.
• Liaise with treasury, risk, credit and other bank services to streamline the client experience.
• Assist the Head of Asset Management & Advisory on ad‑hoc projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a private bank, asset management or wealth management environment.
• University degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering or a quantitative discipline.
• Fluent in English and French; additional languages are a plus.
• Professional demeanor, diplomatic skills, strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
• Excellent relationship‑management, communication and influencing abilities.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Passion for financial markets, particularly equities.

Required skills

• Coding (any programming language) – considered an advantage.
