Senior Java Engineer – Observability Platform (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java expertise to build and evolve our observability and telemetry platform. You will create the tooling that makes large‑scale distributed systems visible and manageable for engineering teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Java‑based components for observability and telemetry in distributed environments.
• Build and maintain metrics pipelines, tracing frameworks, and instrumentation tooling.
• Integrate OpenTelemetry and other observability standards into platform infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver effective tooling.
• Deploy, operate, and maintain observability services in Kubernetes clusters.
• Participate in code reviews and help define engineering standards for the platform team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional IT experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on Java development as a primary language.
• Proven experience building or working with observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, metrics systems, or tracing solutions.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and the challenges of scaling observability.
• Experience working in Kubernetes environments.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
