Senior Mechanical Design Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical Design ensures that mechanical designs are fully industrialised, manufacturable and aligned with project execution, supply‑chain strategies and business objectives. The role bridges Engineering, Supply Chain, Package Management, manufacturers and proposal teams, and also leads the Seal Project Package as the technical reference for sealing and low‑friction solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise mechanical designs for manufacturability, assembly, inspection, testing, cost and schedule.
• Review and challenge design choices (materials, tolerances, machining, welding, coatings, assembly sequences) to reduce risk.
• Define manufacturing assumptions, critical industrial parameters and philosophies from early project phases.
• Provide manufacturing input for sourcing strategies, supplier selection and make‑or‑buy decisions.
• Act as main interface with manufacturers, reviewing drawings, procedures and ITPs, managing deviations and supporting FATs.
• Lead the seal package end‑to‑end: technical definition, supplier coordination, risk management and industrial follow‑up.
• Contribute to proposals by defining realistic manufacturing strategies, cost drivers and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Engineer diploma in a relevant discipline.
• 5‑10 years of experience in Oil & Gas or industrial sectors.
• Strong background in mechanical design and manufacturing.
• Proven experience working with external suppliers and manufacturers.
• Excellent interface skills across engineering, supply chain and project teams.
• Structured, pragmatic and solution‑oriented mindset.
