Senior Mechanical Design Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Mechanical Design ensures that mechanical designs are fully industrialised, manufacturable and aligned with project execution, supply‑chain strategies and business objectives. The role is a key interface between Engineering, Supply Chain, Package Management, manufacturers and proposal teams, and also serves as the technical reference for seal and low‑friction solutions across projects.

Key responsibilities

• Optimise mechanical designs for manufacturability, assembly, inspection, testing, cost and schedule.
• Review and challenge design choices (materials, tolerances, machining, welding, coatings, assembly sequences) to reduce risk and improve industrial robustness.
• Define manufacturing assumptions, critical industrial parameters and manufacturing philosophies from early project phases.
• Provide manufacturing input to support sourcing strategies, supplier selection and make‑or‑buy decisions.
• Act as the main interface with manufacturers, reviewing documentation, managing technical issues, deviations and supporting inspections and FATs.
• Contribute to proposals by defining realistic manufacturing strategies, cost drivers and risk assessments.
• Lead the Seal Project package – technical definition, supplier coordination, risk management and industrial follow‑up.

Required profile

• Engineer diploma in a relevant discipline.
• 5‑10 years of experience in Oil & Gas or industrial sectors.
• Strong mechanical design and manufacturing background.
• Proven experience working with suppliers and external manufacturers.
• Excellent interface skills across engineering, supply chain and project teams.
• Structured, pragmatic and solution‑oriented mindset.
