Senior Software Engineer (Java + Observability) – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Java expertise to design and build observability and telemetry platforms for large‑scale distributed systems. This remote, platform‑engineering position focuses on creating the tooling that makes complex environments observable for engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop Java‑based observability components, including metrics pipelines and tracing frameworks.
• Build and maintain instrumentation tooling and integrate OpenTelemetry standards.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to gather observability requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Deploy, operate, and maintain observability services in Kubernetes environments.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold engineering standards across the platform team.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 3+ years of professional experience using Java as the primary language.
• Hands‑on experience building or working with observability tooling such as OpenTelemetry, metrics systems, or tracing.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and the challenges of observability at scale.
• Experience working in Kubernetes environments.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
