Senior Software Engineer – Scala (Remote)

About the role

BairesDev is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong Scala or Java expertise to design and build high‑throughput, reliable distributed data processing components. You will work on streaming and batch pipelines that power critical data platforms for global enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable distributed data processing components in Scala or Java.
• Build and maintain streaming and batch pipelines handling large‑scale workloads.
• Apply JVM performance knowledge to optimise production systems.
• Collaborate with platform and data engineering teams to deliver well‑tested solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and help define engineering standards.
• Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks and reliability issues.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 3+ years of professional experience using Scala or Java as the primary language.
• Hands‑on experience with distributed data processing systems.
• Background in stream or batch processing infrastructure.
• Solid understanding of JVM performance fundamentals.
• Advanced proficiency in English; open‑source contributions are a plus.
