Staff Software Engineer (Java) – Remote

About the role

We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer with deep Java expertise to design and build distributed storage system components. You will work on highly reliable, scalable infrastructure that powers data management for large enterprises.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of Java‑based distributed storage components with a focus on reliability and scalability.
• Apply consensus protocols such as RAFT or Paxos to create fault‑tolerant, consistent systems.
• Own replication and high‑availability design for storage infrastructure serving enterprise‑scale workloads.
• Define technical direction for distributed storage development and promote best practices across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to deliver long‑lasting infrastructure improvements.
• Mentor engineers and support technical growth within the distributed systems team.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in IT roles.
• 5+ years of Java development experience in distributed systems or storage engineering.
• Strong background in distributed storage architecture and design.
• Hands‑on experience with consensus protocols such as RAFT or Paxos.
• Deep understanding of replication strategies and high‑availability system design.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and influence technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
• Advanced proficiency in English.
