Technical Lead / Full Stack Software Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer to lead product development as MARSS enters a new phase focused on maritime safety and security solutions. You will own the existing code base, drive technical decisions and help build a high‑performing software team.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the current code base and guide its evolution.
• Contribute to strategic and technical decisions, including architecture and tooling.
• Design and implement end‑to‑end products for maritime safety applications.
• Build and expand the software team from the ground up.
• Collaborate with hardware integration teams working with radar, sonar, thermal imaging and other maritime equipment.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of professional software development experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering discipline (master’s or doctorate a plus).
• Strong problem‑solving attitude and willingness to work in a fast‑growing, agile environment.

Required skills

• Python 2 & 3, asynchronous programming (asyncio).
• Frontend development with JavaScript and React.
• Sockets/networking, REST APIs, WebSockets.
• Version control with GIT, comfortable in Linux environments.
• C/C++ development and unit‑testing tools.
• Serial interfaces, video processing (GStreamer, Janus, WebRTC).
• HTML5/JS.
• System security and cryptography.
• Machine learning concepts.
• DevOps tools such as Ansible and Packer.
