Global Naval Lead

About the role

As the Global Naval Lead at SBM Offshore, you will provide technical expertise for the design, construction, and maintenance of marine structures and vessels worldwide. You will shape best practices and work instructions that ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions for structural re‑assessments and loading condition simulations both locally and fleet‑wide.
• Ensure integrity and safety of naval structures by monitoring class issues and complying with local and flag regulations.
• Review and approve inspection reports, specifications for repairs, and oversee inspection campaign progress.
• Approve prescriptive and risk‑based inspection (RBI) plans.
• Assist in budgeting for inspection campaigns and track financial performance.
• Develop and disseminate best practices and work instructions for the fleet.
• Represent Operations in strategic and tactical meetings when delegated by the Operating Technical Authority.
• Prepare and follow‑up naval‑related KPIs and discipline dashboards, highlighting anomalies to management.

Required profile

• Degree in Naval Architecture or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in shipping, offshore construction, repair, or operations for oil and gas companies.
• Experience with class societies as a surveyor is an advantage.
