Junior Yacht Surveyor – Monaco

About the role

MARE Marine Experts is seeking a Junior Yacht Surveyor to join its growing team in Monaco. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for a marine professional who wants to develop specialist expertise in yacht surveying, marine insurance claims and technical investigations.

Key responsibilities

• Assist experienced surveyors on condition surveys, damage inspections and repair monitoring for large yachts and superyachts.
• Conduct insurance‑related assignments, including technical investigations and casualty inspections.
• Travel regularly to yachts, shipyards and marinas across the French Riviera, Northern Italy and occasionally the wider Mediterranean or international locations.
• Attend urgent surveys and provide on‑site technical support as required.

Required profile

• Technical qualification in naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering or a related maritime discipline.
• Practical experience in the yacht or superyacht sector, familiar with construction, machinery, onboard systems and refit works.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail and ability to organise and verify technical information.
• Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
• Residence within reasonable travelling distance of Monaco or willingness to relocate to the Monaco/Nice/French Riviera area.
• Valid driving licence, personal car and flexibility for travel.

Required skills

• Knowledge of naval architecture, marine engineering and mechanical engineering principles.
• Understanding of marine mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, quotations and repair reports.
• Proficiency in producing clear, accurate survey reports in English.
• Strong photographic documentation skills.
