Launch Projects Portfolio Manager

About the role

The Launch Projects Portfolio Manager will lead the definition, implementation and continuous improvement of launch excellence standards across the organization. Reporting to the Head of EPMO, this role ensures that product launches are executed consistently, efficiently and with high quality, while overseeing the Launch Project Manager and driving best‑in‑class governance and cross‑functional coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Define, implement and refine a standardized Launch Excellence framework, including processes, templates, governance structures and KPIs.
• Lead launch governance bodies such as the Launch Committee and monitor performance indicators to support data‑driven decisions.
• Train, coach and manage the Launch Project Manager to ensure robust project planning, execution and delivery.
• Challenge timelines, risks and assumptions, maintain high‑quality documentation and drive effective coordination across Regulatory, Supply, Market Access, Marketing, Medical and Commercial teams.
• Integrate inputs from all relevant departments into comprehensive launch plans and support portfolio‑level prioritisation and arbitration.
• Identify, assess and mitigate launch‑related risks, establish escalation procedures and promote continuous improvement of tools, processes and methodologies.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business or a related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in project management, product launches or cross‑functional roles within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong leadership and influencing abilities in a matrix environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Strategic thinking combined with operational execution capability.
• Proven track record of managing complex, cross‑functional projects.
