Logistics Category Buyer

About the role

SBM Offshore is seeking a Logistics Category Buyer to lead the sourcing, tendering, negotiation and performance management of logistics service providers for both Opex and Capex activities. You will ensure compliant, competitive outcomes that support the company’s offshore energy projects and operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute sourcing and contracting strategies for logistics services.
• Conduct market analysis, assess risks and opportunities, and report insights to Supply Chain Management.
• Define service requirements with Logistics Managers and Project/Operations teams.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, manage trackers, and coordinate qualification processes.
• Negotiate commercial terms, SLAs and frame agreements with providers.
• Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and Quarterly Performance Reviews.
• Analyze spend, consolidate proposals and identify cost‑saving opportunities.
• Support commercial proposals during the WIN/execution handover phase.

Required profile

• Engineering, Supply Chain or equivalent degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics or services contracting, preferably in an international environment.
• Strong knowledge of freight forwarding, transport modes (air, sea, road, rail), related documentation, Incoterms, and customs/import‑export processes.
