Process Engineer – Operations Technical Authority

About the role

As an Operations Technical Authority, you will own the regional performance of Safety and Environmentally Critical Elements (SECE) for process engineering assets. You will work closely with front‑line operations, providing independent technical advice and ensuring that safety standards are met across the fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to all units in your scope at least twice a year to maintain strong connections with operations.
• Provide independent technical advice to regional personnel, ensuring clarity in operational decisions.
• Act as the technical liaison between your discipline, the Operations Risk Team, and subject‑matter experts.
• Support Major Accident Hazards (MAH) risk management and participate in Operational Risk Assessments.
• Review, endorse, and oversee Operations Performance Standards, tag‑list changes, and assurance EMS tasks.
• Approve Execute Phase Assurance Reports and updates to SECE tag lists.
• Monitor key performance indicators for barrier health and escalate concerns.
• Conduct periodic document reviews to align SECE performance with the unit’s Safety Case.
• Oversee MAH Risk Assessment and Safety Case reviews for brownfield modifications or life‑extension projects.
• Prepare an annual report on barrier/SECE management status and verification effectiveness.

Required profile

• Willingness and ability to travel regularly to offshore units.
• Capability to provide independent, technically sound advice to operational teams.
• Strong understanding of safety and environmental critical elements in offshore process engineering.
