Senior Buyer

About the role

As a Senior Buyer at SBM Offshore you will lead the procurement of materials, equipment and services needed for projects and operations, ensuring contracts are negotiated effectively and deliveries meet schedule and budget requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute procurement plans aligned with project timelines, budgets and specifications.
• Source and evaluate suppliers in line with strategic sourcing guidelines, ensuring quality, cost and delivery criteria are met.
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions for critical packages, mitigating risks and securing favorable agreements.
• Issue and manage purchase orders, guaranteeing accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Monitor costs, identify savings opportunities and ensure procurement activities stay within budget.
• Provide regular procurement status reports to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting risks and mitigation actions.
• Mentor and support a team of buyers, overseeing their activities and development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration or related field.
• At least 10 years of procurement experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environments.

Required skills

• Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.
• Analytical and organizational abilities for cost control and reporting.
