Venture Capital Analyst (Contract)

About the role

Mercur is seeking a contract Venture Capital Analyst to support its AI research lab partners. This remote position involves evaluating investment opportunities, creating board materials, and delivering strategic analysis for venture capital projects.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and prepare board materials for venture capital initiatives.
• Conduct market sizing and total addressable market (TAM) analyses to guide investment decisions.
• Develop concise investment summaries and memos that provide strategic insights.
• Source and identify potential deal opportunities within the venture capital ecosystem.
• Work independently and asynchronously to meet project deadlines.
• Contribute to projects that may lead to future engagements with Mercur.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in venture capital at top‑tier firms.
• Proven ability to create board‑level presentation materials.
• Experience conducting market sizing and TAM analyses.
• Strong track record of drafting investment summaries and memos.
• Demonstrated success in sourcing deal flow.
