Intern Structural Engineer

About the role

Join SBM Offshore’s Structural and Mechanical Engineering team in Monaco for a 6‑month internship focused on optimizing and automating Finite Element Analysis (FEA) post‑processing. You will evaluate current workflows, identify manual bottlenecks, and propose digital solutions to improve efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze the use of FEA to assess integrity and performance of offshore and industrial equipment.
• Review activities related to model input preparation, result extraction, large‑dataset post‑processing, plot generation, and report compilation.
• Identify repetitive manual tasks and recommend automation or digitalization opportunities.
• Contribute to the redesign and optimization of the FEA workflow for structural and mechanical engineering disciplines.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Master’s program in Engineering or a related field.
• Interest in finite element analysis, structural or mechanical engineering, and process digitalization.
• Basic programming knowledge and familiarity with engineering software tools.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and English communication skills.
