Internship – Installation Engineer (Data Analytics & Digital Twin)

About the role

Join SBM Offshore’s Installation Engineering department in Monaco for a 6‑month internship focused on operational data analytics and digital‑twin development for offshore installation vessels. You will work closely with engineers and hydrodynamic specialists to turn vessel sensor data into actionable engineering insights.

Key responsibilities

• Explore and analyse historical sensor data from installation vessels, identifying key performance indicators and operational parameters.
• Develop methodologies to correlate offshore data with metocean information and compare real data against OrcaFlex simulations.
• Assess existing engineering models, propose improvements, and create algorithms or dashboards for performance assessment.
• Support the definition of valuable signals and analysis methods for a digital‑twin of installation activities.

Required profile

• Master’s‑level engineering student with interest in offshore operations.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, able to work in multidisciplinary environments.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
