Software Engineer – Data Platform (Hedge Fund, Monaco)

About the role

Our client, an early‑stage systematic investment firm based in Monaco, is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to own and scale its data platform. Working closely with the CTO, you will shape the architecture that powers trading and investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of data ingestion, ETL pipelines, and vendor dataset management.
• Design and evolve storage architecture, schemas, and metadata management.
• Establish data quality frameworks, monitoring and observability systems.
• Ensure reliability and performance of critical data flows and make data accessible via APIs, notebooks and self‑service tooling.
• Collaborate with the CTO and investment team to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Required profile

• 5+ years in infrastructure or platform engineering, preferably in hedge funds, systematic/quantitative trading, prop‑trading, investment banking front‑office tech, or market‑data vendors.
• Demonstrated ownership of production data systems, strong software‑engineering discipline, and ability to work across multiple technology areas.
• Genuine interest in close collaboration with traders and researchers.
