Hydrodynamics Engineering Internship (Mooring Fatigue Analysis)

About the role

This 6‑month internship in Monaco focuses on mooring system fatigue analyses for turret‑moored projects. You will work within the Hydrodynamics department, applying advanced sampling methods to assess fatigue damage.

Key responsibilities

• Review and summarise DNV‑OS‑E301 requirements and the importance‑sampling method, comparing it with other industry‑accepted approaches.
• Apply importance sampling to a representative turret‑moored project and compare results with alternative methods over representative years.
• Evaluate suitability for out‑of‑plane bending analyses and potential extension to turret‑load analyses.
• If time permits, design a reusable workflow to implement the method efficiently on future projects.

Required profile

• Engineering student in 2nd or 3rd year, preferably from an engineering school.
• Prior exposure to offshore industry or mooring concepts is a plus.
• Strong analytical mindset and ability to interpret numerical results.

Required skills

• Python programming for data handling and clustering.
• Experience with industry‑recognised mooring software such as Ariane and Orcaflex.
